What do you use to clean your house mirrors with?

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

Well I just wanted to let you all know that BABY WIPES CLEAN MIRRORS WONDERFULLY, NO STREAKS, AND YOU DON’T EVEN HAVE TO DRY IT. Just wipe the mirror with one baby wipe and let it dry on its own, I am telling you that this must be the miracle cleaner, lol. I clean my mirrors with baby wipes all the time. Hey—– think about it—- you can get a huge pack of baby wipes at the dollar store and they last a lot longer (not to mention how much cheaper) than windex. Happy Cleaning!!!!!!!
Oh— and you don’t even have to spray anything, Just wipe and go!!!!
LOL, No I don’t sell anything, just sharing my experience!!!!!

I use Vinegar and newspapers also. Except my bathroom shower door and mirror. I clean them with shaving cream. It does a good job and they wont fog over then when you shower.

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

there are 4 of us in the household. my husband and i work full-time we both full-time parents(of course) we have separete days off and it just seems that no matter what the house is a diaster. i know with 2 kids it should be "lived in" but this is out of control. i guess what im asking is how do i get a schedule to fit with us?

make it a habit and a rule for everyone in the house that any room they walk into must be tidier when they walk out.that way everyone pitches in a small way, but believe me,it will show.

I really need to clean out my computer, and I need it to speed up, very slow

Clean your Registry can make your computer faster

Is your computer slower than ever? Does it feel like your computer just can’t open up programs? In this how to, it will teach you ways to make your computer faster.

The one way you can really boost your PC performance is by buying more ram to install in your computer. If you can go to a store and ask them to install more ram, that will help the computer run faster than before.
Step2
Scan your computer for viruses and spyware. Make sure and get rid of any nasty viruses or spyware that are located in your computer.

Step3
Get rid of unnecessary start up programs. The start up programs will load on your PC automatically and slow down your system. Click run and type in msconfig. Click on startup items and uncheck any useless start up programs.
Or use the tool to manage your startup:

Step4
Run disk de-fragment and disk clean up. Both programs will be found in your accessory folder and both clean up the system.

Step5
Clean your Registry

Any advice on a good organizing/cleaning schedule?

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

Preferably one that will work with small kids in the house. (i.e. not constantly cleaning to the point I don’t have time to be with my kids.)

The washing goes into the machine as you walk through the house as soon as you get out of bed. Breakfast gets assembled while you are chatting to the kids. You have breakfast together and the kids if old enough, (and you can start this early) do some tidying or picking up or bed making in their own rooms while you do your room.

They then bring their toys to the living area while you tidy up after breakfast. I’m going to assume you have toddlers, so next it is all into the bathroom. They are in the bath while you clean the bathroom and chat to them.

Get them dressed and then it’s their tv time or DVD time while you shower and hang the washing.

They can then sit on the couch with a book while you vacuum the house.

Most of the work is now done – off to the park together! At their nap time you prepare most of the evening meal then have a sit down.

How do you clean your house without water?

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

HELLLPPPP!!!! I have just found out that my plumbing is backing up in my house, and we only JUST got dish detergent, after 1.5 days w/o it. My kitchen is a mess, and my house was up for a big cleaning today, but now I can’t use my water, and the plumber will be here in about 3 hours.

I know this sounds like a wacky situation, and one you’d never be in, but I’m desperate for some help. Please, offer any and all relevant advice.

Go buy some bottles of water.

How much does it usually cost to have someone clean your house?

Sunday, February 21st, 2010

I know it depends on the size of the house, but I’m just wondering what others are paying for cleaning.

last time we had someone come in. It was 55.00. and that was to start the washer, sweep/mop floors, make up beds, wipe down bath room, and wipe down kitchen counters, and load the dish washer. She did all this in about and hour.

Is it wrong to clean your house only on weekends?

Sunday, February 21st, 2010

My boyfriend decided to leave me because he says I am a slob, we have been together for 4yrs and have a 10 month old. I started working 10 hours a day 6 days a week and I have 4 yr old from previous realtionship. He juts lost his job and has gotten very demanding on house chores. I wash dishes and take out the trash daily but the rest of the chores are done on weekends. He thinks I don’t do enough and decided to leave. am I wrong?

It’s not that your wrong, but that he is right.

How long does it take you to clean your house and how long to you let it go before cleaning?

Saturday, February 20th, 2010

My house normally takes me about 45 minutes if I really set my mind to it and my baby is sleeping. I only let it go about 2 days or so before cleaning again. It does get really messy with a toddler who pulls everything off everything! LOL!

I am pregnant with my 4th child and the oldest is 5yr old. My house is 3,000 square feet. Ugh, where to begin:)
Flylady.com has saved my life. I basically never let one day pass without cleaning. If I do it gets silly by the next day. I always want it to be nice enough that if my mother in law were to walk in I wouldn’t be mortified:)
It takes me about 2hrs to do a good cleaning session which I do once a week but again daily I’m cleaning all floor and surfaces etc. Dishes everyday and laundry everyday – no exceptions:)
Oh and the irobot vac.cleaner is a life saver! Love it!

What is the standard time you clean your house?

Saturday, February 20th, 2010

Do you fully clean it every week? I am not the neatest person but I want to change and was wondering what you other housewives do? Do you do the major stuff( vaccuming, dusting, cleaning the bathroom) every week? And then just tidy up every day till then?

I never really thought too much about it, but with three kids in the house and everyone on vastly different schedules, I suppose I do have a sort of schedule of events for cleaning.
Break things down into three categories: Daily, Weekly, and As Needed.
Daily I wash dishes because if I don’t things can get potentially unsafe iin the kitchen. Daily I take out trash. Daily I pick up the toys on the stairs so no one takes a nose dive. My daily list are things that MUST be done… for safety’s sake if not for my sanity. If you think about it, you probably only have three to five things that MUST be done on a daily basis.
Weekly I do the things that are just a little more time intensive. These are the things that can be put off. I wash the bedding weekly. I do one large load of towels weekly. I clean out the car of trash and fast food residue weekly. My safety and sanity are not in danger from putting these things off.
Then there is the As Needed chores. These are the things that I have to do at some point, but don’t need to do every ten seconds. They don’t really affect my safety, but they sure as heck bother my sanity. I vacuum as needed. I mop the kitchen and bathrooms as needed. I reorganize my kids toys as needed. I wash personal laundry as needed.

The biggest thing with setting yourself any kind of cleaning schedule is to realize what you can do today and what you can’t put off any longer… so have fun with it, fold laundry while watching TV; do dishes while the crock pot is cooking dinner and the radio is blasting…

or better yet: *whisper* treat yourself once in a while, kick everyone out of the house for the day and hire a maid while you take a spa day and relax.
