What is the best way to speed up my computer and also clean out some of the old files?

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

Use a temp file cleaner such as this one:

http://download.cnet.com/Temp-File-Cleaner/3000-2094_4-10628816.html?tag=mncol

This will get rid of old files for you.

Also defragment your computer. to do this, right click on the hard drive (in my computer) that needs it, usually c drive, and go to properties. then from there, you can click defragment.

if all of this is done, and its still slow, buy more ram. if that is still not enough, a new computer would be the best option.

Why Janitorial Cleaning Products Are the Best Cleaning Solutions For a Crazy Caught up House

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

I live in a house with 11 cats, 2 dogs and 13 people and you can imagine how crazy it is over here. The upkeep can be very painfully taxing and tedious at the same time. We have a housekeeper named Odette, a short lanky lady who fixes and cleans this place every single day.

She already came to a point of endless chattering about complains and I cannot help but just understand her situation because it is very hard to be in a position where she is. She cleans using water, soap and bleach that we provide her with.

It runs out pretty easily because she needed to run by the cleaning two times to make sure that the stink of the cat pees and poops are taken cared for. Without her presence this place can be a stink bomb and a hell hole.

The room that I stay in houses five cats and 4 humans. We have been experiencing allergies due to the cat hairs and have provided our helper a stronger cleanser to take care of the stink, dirt and disinfecting. But it still doesn’t work.

We have already talked about using Janitorial Cleaning products as a solution to our household cleaning needs because of the cleaning and saving benefits. Buying cleaning stuff for Odette in the grocery store can be a very expensive task specially these days. We already started off by buying the wholesale cleaning products for dishwashing and it already saved us a lot of money.

I also suggested that we can buy these products online and be affiliates so we can earn money on the side or perhaps buy wholesale cleaning products for our every cleaning need and sell the excess to our friends who have the same problems as we have.

To let you know, we are part of a foundation that rescues animals and expect that all of our friends’ household would have either 4-5 stray cats in care. I am just waiting for a reply from all the people that live here and hope they will be swayed by the idea and if they do, Odette will be the happiest cleaner here around and we can enjoy the comfort that hotels have sans paying for the expensive room and board.

Right now as I finish this article the water ran out, Odette just came in and ranted again. I just smiled because I understand where she is coming from. She still has a sink full of plates to clean, 2 bathrooms to take care of, 5 rooms to disinfect, 11 cats to feed, 5 sets of uniforms to wash and kids to pick up from school. I cannot blame her because that’s a big task for her size and age.

Water is very important for cleaning. You may have the best cleansers of the world but nothing would work in the absence of water. As for this cleansing dilemma, I am willing to wait for the consortium of the 12 other people for a solution to this problem. In the mean time I will do my due diligence to speed it up and check out the best cleansers around.

Windows Xp Registry Cleaners – How to Select the Best Windows Xp Registry Cleaners

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

In need of a registry fix? I think I can help. Are you getting the windows blue screen? Wondering “why is my computer so slow”? Or perhaps software and hardware are not running properly and you are getting some kind of windows error message. Whatever the reason, we all need Windows XP registry cleaners at some point.

The longer we use our computers the more our registries need to be cleaned up. As new software is installed or older software uninstalled, there is a congestion of information in the registry directory. This excesses information slows down the computer and causes different errors to occur. Our computers are not smart enough to get rid of useless and corrupted information on their own. That is why we need a Windows XP registry cleaner to do it for us.

The best registry cleaner should be able to fix broken links, missing paths, and remove invalid entries. It is also important to repair DLL, Runtime, and Kernel errors. These errors can often cause computer crashing, freezing, and other serious problems.

Another feature of an excellent Windows XP registry cleaner is the ability to optimize your computer to achieve peak performance. There are many areas in our computer that can be optimized to speed up your computer dramatically. Use software that can take a snapshot of your system and repair those areas instantly.

And lastly, be certain that your registry repair software can create a backup of your directory first. If anything goes wrong you need to be able to protect yourself by reverting to the original settings. This is a feature that you should not overlook when deciding on an XP registry repair tool.

With so many different Windows XP Registry Cleaners, it can be rather difficult to choose the best. But these are the core features that any registry cleaner should have. I personally use software that incorporates all of these features and more. If you are interested you can check out the software below.

How To Choose The Best Fruit Juicer

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

What are the basics of fruit juicers? If you know them, you can better get the best model for you. Juicers first came on the scene in 1930, when Dr. Norman Walker invented the first one. He must have partaken in juicing himself, as he lived to be 108 years old.

Juicing helps you easily get the recommended servings of fruits and vegetables every day. Many are not doing so, and the vagaries of this show up in lack of stamina and energy, as well as other health ailments. Juicing is ideal for cancer patients who have finished their treatments.

It can help them access much needed vitamins and minerals lost from chemotherapy treatments, for example, and can strengthen their immune systems. It can also flush out unwanted toxinsafter chemotherapy.

Although juicing is beneficial, it can also be detrimental if it’s not done properly. If you drink too much juice from high-sugar fruits and vegetables, it can adversely affect blood sugar levels for those who need to control them. Sugars from natural fruits quickly enter the bloodstream, which can cause spikesin blood sugar.

As long as you use juicing moderately to benefit your health and don’t overdo it, you will gain benefits for a lifetime. It can be a very healthy habit toincorporate into your lifestyle.

So What Is A Juicer?

A juicer is an appliance operates manually or electrically. It extracts juice from vegetables, fruits and leafy greens. There are different types geared tospecific types of fruits or vegetables.

Some fruit juicers look a lot like blenders. However, the juicer will have some kind of mechanism to separate the pulp from the juice. A blender simplygrinds fruits or vegetables up and the pulp must be manually strained out of the juice.

Juicers’ mechanisms of extraction may also differ. Some common types include centrifugal, centrifugal ejection, masticating, manual press, single auger, dualcage auger and twin press.

Centrifugal types are one of the oldest. They have a simple design, utilizing a shredder and a strainer. This design uses centrifugal force to extract thejuice from the pulp.

Centrifugal ejection models are similar to centrifugal juicers. However, in the centrifugal ejection type, the basket has slanted sides. This makes it easyto clean. One of its disadvantages is that it is noisy. It is very user-friendly, though, and the maintenance is simple.

The masticating type juicer has a slow speed motor that masticates the fruits and vegetables. The manual press juicer is one that retains juice nutrientsbest, because no oxidation occurs during the extraction process. Rather, it uses pressure to extract juice.

How to Shop for the Best Model

Perhaps the first thing people consider is the cost. Although not always true that that high price means high quality, there is some correlation. Otherimportant factors also need to be considered.

First, the machine must be user-friendly. It should be easy to clean and operate.

Second, look for a reliable brand so you won’t have to replace parts often.

Third, slow speed juicers are best, as they reduce oxidation. You should also be able to extract a good quantity of juice from the fruits and vegetables.

Some models give you more pulp than juice. Models that extract the pulp to an outside container leave less pulp behind than those that do so inside themachine. The model you choose should also be dishwasher safe and compact.

Some popular and reliable brands are; Champion, Omega, Nutrisource, Lequip, Juice Fountain, Samson, Solo Star, Green Star and Green Power.

Tips in Removing Mold in Your Home

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

Molds are not only disgusting to look at, but they can also carry a lot of diseases. Exposure to mold can lead to colds, respiratory complications, nasal problems, and sinus congestions. It can also cause sore throats and skin problems. If a family member suffers from asthma, molds can also trigger the attacks. Molds are also known to cause allergies.

Identifying Mold
Removing mold can be a tedious tasks and the first step in eliminating mold is to identify if it exists in your household. You would know that your house has mold if you smell a musty odor and see a mass of green or black slimy stuff. Mold is actually fungus that may float in the atmosphere much like pollen. They are usually found in moist and humid areas like the floors of your bathroom and outdoor patios or gardens. If you really want to detect mold in your house you can try reliable sampling. This may be quite expensive since this procedure can require special equipments and needs careful training of staff.

Where Mold Resides
Molds can be found in hays, grass, or leaf piles. Molds also grow in most organic resources like wood and paper. If our house has areas that are wet most of the time, chances are, mold will grow there. Walls can be one place where mold breeds. Painted walls that are washed from rain are also one place where mold can live. Molds can easily creep under cabinets and carpet padding. There are also some instances that molds can even penetrate the kitchen of your homes. When this happens, be alarmed. Since the kitchen is one place where you prepare your foods, it can be quite dangerous to cook foods in an environment with mold.

Removing Mold
When removing molds, remember that your safety should come first. Always use a respirator or mask to act as an air filter and prevent mold spores from getting into your lungs. Use eye protectors and rubber gloves. After using these types of safety equipment, it is best to dispose them immediately after use.

It is important to dampen or sprinkle some water on materials with mold. This can prevent airborne mold pollens from spreading into the air. You can use non-ammonia detergent or soap to clean hard surfaces. Hard surfaces include plastics, glass and metals. You can also use these in cleaning counter tops, kitchen, or bathroom tiles. It is important to note that you should never mix ammonia with bleach because they may give off fumes that can be toxic and harmful to your body.
It is sad to say, though, that it is not possible to remove mold from carpets or paper. Porous materials are usually impossible to clean if they have molds. There is no better way to remove these kind of moldy materials but to throw them away.

In walls or other wood structures, you can remove molds by scrubbing. But do not expect them to be completely gone. You can scrub them or sand them. Make sure that you use protective safety tools when you do this. Clean these stuff in a well-ventilated area, away from other equipments.

Use a commercial disinfectant after you have removed the molds. Bleach and water solution can also be used as disinfectant. The cleaning solution should contain one-fourth bleach for every gallon of water. Apply the solution in the material infected by mold and allow the solution to do its work for fifteen minutes. If there are too much molds in the material, you can use one and a half cup of bleach per one galloon of water. Be sure that you are in a well-ventilated area when cleaning. After several minutes, rinse the area with water and allow the material to dry. You can use fan or dehumidifier if you want them to dry immediately.

Bamboo Floor Maintenance

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

To reduce the amount of dust and grit brought onto your floors, install mats at all outside entryways. Make sure these mats are kept clean and in good condition as well. Be aware that oil from driveways and/or roads can stain quite easily. Make sure shoes are clean before walking on the floor.

Another note about shoes: High heels (particularly stiletto), work boots, shoes with cleats, and hard soled shoes can quickly damage your floor. Avoid walking on your floors with these types of shoes as much as possible. If you must walk on your floors with high heels, make sure the heels are in good repair to minimize damage to the floor. Also, check any shoe for rocks, pebbles, etc. lodged in the sole before walking on your floors.

Make sure dust and grit are cleaned up daily or at least as often as needed. When walked on, dust and grit act like sandpaper. This can and will quickly damage your surface. A soft bristled broom, dust mop or vacuum with an attachment for cleaning bamboo (or hardwood) floors is the recommended tool for frequent cleanups.

Make sure all spills are cleaned up quickly. If necessary, a lightly damp mop or soft cloth can be used to clean up wet or sticky spills. Make sure you dry the floor completely with a clean soft cloth afterwards.

Use area rugs to protect high traffic areas or areas that are prone to liquid spills. In the kitchen it is suggested to have a rug in front of the stove and one in front of the sink. These are both places that see a lot of traffic and are highly likely to experience liquid spills on the floor. Make sure the rugs are kept clean so dirt and grit do not get trapped underneath. Also, make sure the backing is not too rough, which could damage the finish.

Protect your floors from dents and scratches from heavy furniture. Place soft protective pads under the feet of all furniture. Make sure the pads are kept in good condition and replace as necessary. Never drag heavy furniture unprotected across your floors. If furniture has casters, make sure the casters are made of soft, non marking materials such as rubber. Hard casters made of metal or plastic will quickly damage your floor.

Clean your bamboo floors as necessary with the manufacturer’s suggested no-wax, non-alkaline floor cleaning product. Although, more resistant to moisture than wood flooring, bamboo can still be damaged by too much water. If the product requires mixing with water, follow the label directions exactly. Also, do not let the cleaner (or any other liquid for that matter) to pool on the surface of the floor. This could result in damage to the finish or bamboo itself.

To prevent shrinking or swelling of your floor, use a humidifier or dehumidifier to maintain relative humidity of 30-50%. Excessive humidity can cause your floor to swell, while a lack of humidity can cause the floor to contract (shrink). This can eventually lead to an uneven floor and/or gaps between the boards.

As much as possible, limit your bamboo floor’s exposure to sunlight. Use good quality drapes or blinds and rotate area rugs. If the floor is exposed to too much sunlight, the floor may darken in some areas and lighten in others.

If you notice the finish of your bamboo floors has lost its sheen, or you notice lots of scratches and nicks, it may be time to re-coat or restore the floor’s finish. Follow your manufacturer’s recommendations for what product to use to restore the shine.

Never use abrasive cleaners or tools such as scouring powder or steel wool on your bamboo floors. If you have stains remaining after general cleaning, first attempt to remove them by rubbing a clean soft cloth moistened with wood floor cleaner. If the stain is still visible, try another clean soft cloth moistened with mineral spirits. Make sure you carefully read and follow all directions on the cleaning product label.
