Spotless Speed Cleaning!

Spring cleaning a cluttered house?

I have lots of cutter in my home, 3 kids with more toys then a classroom full of kids could play with and way to many clothes for 5 people. I am so sick of the clutter and the messes. I want to get rid of EVERYTHING that I can. Does anyone have any tips for a GOOD spring cleaning for a beyond cluttered house? I could even use tips for cleaning thing, like house hold remedies for cleaning stains, carpet, hard wood floors, bathrooms, etc. Thanks!!!

Yes good old clutter! I know exactly what you mean!
I usually do one room at the time this way I don’t get overwhelmed with the stuff , every year I go trough the same procedure , select and purge! If the clothes don’t fit anymore or no one wears them get a huge garbage bag and fill it to take to a local charity. I go trough every drawer and purge ,purge and purge! I use Murphy’s soap and wipe all the inside of the drawers and put a new scented liner down, then I move to the closet take everything out wash the walls shelves and put all the clothes that need to be dry cleaned on one pile and lateron they will be put away for next Winter, take all the Spring and Summer things out to be rewashed and ironed, and purge, purge and purge again! I take the curtains down and wash them or dry clean if yours are not washable , clean the windows and screen wash rthe walls and trims down I like Pine Sol for this it gives a nice smell of freshness the room . This is for one room ,then move on to the next and do the same thing , for the toys get bins and have the kids put things away when they are done playing for the day, I clean my wood floor with Murphy’s soap on occasion I wipe it down with a damp cloth and vinegar, I use to rent a steam cleaner until I bought my own now I can clean the carpet anytime that I wish to . Bathrooms I clean every day . For stains you can always keep a few cans of Club Soda available in case on emergency . And now that you are done ,take a break ! But remember that "Women ‘s work is never done"

I really only have a solution for clearing out clothes and toy clutter…
My rule of thumb is if i havent worn it or used it in a year…out it goes! Have everyone in your family go thru their clothes and if they havent worn it in a year AND if they wouldnt buy it if they were shopping today, then throw it in a basket or bag and take it to your local consignment shop or goodwill. Some second-hand stores will even pay you for your contribution….so call around and see who pays cash for what you give and you could even give out cash rewards to your kids for being clean and clutter free! :)
Otherwise, keep the receipt you get from goodwill for your contributions and itll be a tax deduction.

Get rid of all of the things that you don’t love or need. Anything else is just taking up space and causing clutter. Get several boxes or bags and label them keep, give away, sell, trash, etc. Go through each room like this. After you have declutterd then you can organize – make sure there is a place for everything, and make sure it returns to it’s ‘home’ after it’s been used. Go through the toys with your kids and get rid of the ones they don’t play with regularly or have outgrown. Take out all of the clothes from the closets and only keep the ones that fit and make you look and feel good.

If they haven’t played with it in at least 6 months, get rid of it. There are all kinds of places to take your used stuff. As long as it isn’t broken, domestic violence shelters, homeless shelters, foster care agencies, orphanages, hospitals, day cars, etc… will all be lining up for it:-) This goes for the clothes as well. You get a clean house & make someone elses day at the same time. As for the home remedies for stubborn spots,
I am sorry. Hoped I helped a little:-)
