Yesterday I spent about 6 hours cleaning our house, main level and basement. It really needed it, especially in the basement! Anyways now it looks smells fantastic and I really want to keep it like this. I can be a little lazy when it comes to a good deep cleaning, especially if there’s something good on tv! you really don’t have excessive time on your hands. so you just have to be very organised. i used to clean and tidy before going to bed just so the house was tidy next morning. if you have stopped using an item, rather than put it in the basement/garage, ask yourself ‘am i ever going to use it again, can someone else recycle it rather than storing it.’ because you know if it makes the journey into the basement, your on a slippery slope to being back where you started.

I’m fighting a losing battle. I feel like I wake up and clean til I fall asleep at night, and my house is still a big mess. Any tips for me? I’m so envious of those stay at home moms who has the house that looks like it stepped off the pages of a home interior magazine. I have 3 kids, 1 dog and 2 cats and work FT from home. No one else here shops, prepares or plans meals, cooks,cleans up, does laundry, etc etc. It’s me. And I can honestly say, I don’t spend a lot of time cleaning. I probably should but I don’t.

I have a super capacity front load washer dryer – it saves me easily 10 hours a week. I can do all of our week’s laundry in about 5 loads and in about 5 hours.

I vacumn about 2x a week, including the tile floor.

Clean the bathrooms every Sunday

Tile floor gets steam cleaned about 1x a month and spot cleaned inbetween.

Dust as I go along every day. Not a real specific schedule but as it piles up. The kids help with that.

Litterbox is every day. And that litter gets everywhere!

Wiping down the kitchen counters is relentless – same with loading/unloading the dishwasher. Kids help with this too and with taking the Mr. Clean eraser around to the woodwork.

I live in a house with 11 cats, 2 dogs and 13 people and you can imagine how crazy it is over here. The upkeep can be very painfully taxing and tedious at the same time. We have a housekeeper named Odette, a short lanky lady who fixes and cleans this place every single day.

She already came to a point of endless chattering about complains and I cannot help but just understand her situation because it is very hard to be in a position where she is. She cleans using water, soap and bleach that we provide her with.

It runs out pretty easily because she needed to run by the cleaning two times to make sure that the stink of the cat pees and poops are taken cared for. Without her presence this place can be a stink bomb and a hell hole.

The room that I stay in houses five cats and 4 humans. We have been experiencing allergies due to the cat hairs and have provided our helper a stronger cleanser to take care of the stink, dirt and disinfecting. But it still doesn’t work.

Right now as I finish this article the water ran out, Odette just came in and ranted again. I just smiled because I understand where she is coming from. She still has a sink full of plates to clean, 2 bathrooms to take care of, 5 rooms to disinfect, 11 cats to feed, 5 sets of uniforms to wash and kids to pick up from school. I cannot blame her because that’s a big task for her size and age.

Water is very important for cleaning. You may have the best cleansers of the world but nothing would work in the absence of water. As for this cleansing dilemma, I am willing to wait for the consortium of the 12 other people for a solution to this problem. In the mean time I will do my due diligence to speed it up and check out the best cleansers around.

I have always adored clean floors and clean smelling hotels, buildings or any establishment that has good housekeeping. Wished I can get the products they use for that. I also have wished it would be as clean as my home; however, a dilemma stands as to where you can get such products.

Groceries only offer any run-of-the-mill cleaning liquids soaps and waxes to help you ease out germs, stains, polishing, disinfecting and stink problems. With all those available the closest to clean that I feel comfortable with is a big bottle of bleach.

Microsoft Windows based computer will gradually slow down from time to time. The biggest issues are caused by registry growing. Registry growth is unavoidable because of:

Well I just wanted to let you all know that BABY WIPES CLEAN MIRRORS WONDERFULLY, NO STREAKS, AND YOU DON’T EVEN HAVE TO DRY IT. Just wipe the mirror with one baby wipe and let it dry on its own, I am telling you that this must be the miracle cleaner, lol. I clean my mirrors with baby wipes all the time. Hey—– think about it—- you can get a huge pack of baby wipes at the dollar store and they last a lot longer (not to mention how much cheaper) than windex. Happy Cleaning!!!!!!!
Oh— and you don’t even have to spray anything, Just wipe and go!!!!

I use Vinegar and newspapers also. Except my bathroom shower door and mirror. I clean them with shaving cream. It does a good job and they wont fog over then when you shower.

HELLLPPPP!!!! I have just found out that my plumbing is backing up in my house, and we only JUST got dish detergent, after 1.5 days w/o it. My kitchen is a mess, and my house was up for a big cleaning today, but now I can’t use my water, and the plumber will be here in about 3 hours.

I know this sounds like a wacky situation, and one you’d never be in, but I’m desperate for some help. Please, offer any and all relevant advice.
