We just put new hardwood floors in our living room. Our house gets really dusty, we have 2 kids and 2 dogs (who shed like crazy). What is the best way to keep them dust free and clean (an everyday type clean). Any products that you recommend?
The Swiffer Wet Jet mop works very well. Make sure to buy the solution for wood flooring. I sweep every other day with a regular broom or Swiffer sweeper and then wet jet mop each week. .

Do not use pledge as someone else suggested- trust me on this, it gets very slippery. I have hardwood through my entire house now and I love it. No more carpet cleaners tramping through the house. I use a swiffer for day to day cleanups but two or three times a year I put this stuff on the floor called Quik Shine by Holloway House. I use my swiffer and apply one coat (you can apply up to 4 but I do not want the floors to shiny). It takes about 15 minutes to dry. The floors look amazing. Even the high traffic areas (3 kids/large dog). Dust and hair just seems to sit on top for the swiffer to grab.

Try this cloth. You have to buy in packages of 5 but they are only like $3 bucks a piece. I have ordered them and use them on everything, especially windows. They are made out of tiny fibers that work like razor blades. They are guaranteed not to scratch and all you do is rinse the cloth under water, wring it out and wipe ANY surface with no streaks or scratch. Use em over and over. I have not thrown one away yet!
I even waxed my car with it! I am sold on this …I encourage you to try it out.
