There are two ways to clean carpets. You can hire professional cleaners from cleaning companies then there is the DIY (do it yourself) method.
In many cases, people prefer to hire carpet cleaning services. Still, there are guidelines to follow. Here are some carpet cleaning tips in hiring professionals:
1. Number of carpets to be cleaned.
Take for instance; your carpet never ever really underwent deep cleansing since the time you have bought it, and you are living in a 2-storey house wherein all the rooms contain carpets. Moreover, your kids have inevitably left marks besides its general wearing and tearing.
In this case, hiring a professional carpet cleaner is advised. If only small carpet areas need cleaning, then you can do it yourself. There are lots of cleaning products that are doing well even with tough stains.
2. Consider your budget.
Keep in mind that you need to pay a considerable amount of money when you hire someone to do the carpet cleaning for you.
3. Know the advantages of hiring a professional carpet cleaner.
They have the expertise in cleaning even the worst carpet stains. Their equipments have more extraction powers compared to the units that you have. Their knowledge about cleaning agents is incomparable to you, besides they also know the distinctions between carpet fibers and construction.
4. Ask recommendations from friends.
Usually, they are good sources of information about reputable companies offering carpet cleaning services. You can observe their cleaning jobs when visiting some friends who also prefer carpet cleaning services.
Other sources of information are the internet and local business directories. Numerous reputable companies are advertising their services online. They really offer the best deals on carpet cleaning jobs.

I hired a professional carpet cleaning company. Was I supposed to tip the men who cleaned my carpet?
If you did most of the prep work, no. But if they busted thier backs moving heavy couches and a piano or two…yes.
No big foul, and they probably aren’t p1ssed, but a tip is always nice.

No unless you wanted to.I used to clean carpets never got a tip. They get payed good not like working in food places where the person only makes 2.25 per hour.

As a carpet cleaning technician myself for 20 years, the answer is no. Carpet cleaners make more money than people realize. Especially on over sales such as protectants, deodorizing, repairs, etc, which is generally a commission of the oversales or the total of the entire job.

There are two reasons for tipping someone.
1. If the person is providing you a personal service, such as a hairdresser, manicurist, waitress, etc. and is paid with the expectation that his/her pay is augmented by tips. This gives the service person an incentive… the better the service, the better the tip.
2. If the people you have hired to do work for you (such as carpet cleaners or a cab driver) has to do extra work than was originally requested. If the carpet cleaners had to move more than a few pieces of furniture, or the guys who work for the lawn service did an especially nice job, a tip might be ok IF the company you hired allows it. However, I’ve found that offering a can of cold soda to thirsty guys is also appreciated.
My father in law used to hire migrant workers on his farm. He sent their monetary pay to the company he hired them through. However, he wanted them to work hard in his fields, so he gave them special hot peppers and melons he’d grown for them, and had cold drinks brought out throughout the day in addition to water.
His philosophy was to treat his workers as he would like to be treated.

My husband used to clean carpet, and I worked in the office of a carpet cleaning company. Tips are EXTREMELY rare for carpet cleaners. Usually around the holidays, they got a little, but these guys work on commission. You don’t need to tip them unless they went above and beyond for you.
