Let the adrenaline run through you, and play a good show.

Drunk audiences are easy, and fun.
References :
I suggest you just be yourself for this one. Since it is your first gig, there isn't really a track record to improve on. You have to find your performing voice before you can improve it. I hope you are shooting for an original voice. If so, you don't want to get too lost in the imitation for your first gig. Just work on nurturing the confidence that you can be yourself in front of about 50 of your friends. This stranger on the internet believes in you. Now believe in yourself and worry about the "improvements" after you have a track record to improve upon.

Good luck. Have fun.
References :
I have played live a couple of times, though not with a band. i suggest you watch guns n roses at the ritz in 1988 on youtube and try and get the energy going that they had. Watch your favourite bands live. if your doing a cover watch that live and maybe they slightly change there notes to improve the song. But practise is the most important thing
Hope this helps.
References :
Me

Anyone have any tips to improve live performances in a band?
I'm playing bass in a 3-piece "rock" band with an audience of about 50 of our friends in a garden/field. We're pretty tight musically and the audience is going to be pretty drunk...! This is our first time performing as a band live, and I'm not particularly worried, I just wondered whether anyone had any tips to help me/us give a better performance? Especially as playing bass/not singing is quite a static position to play.
